WHY WE HAVEN'T USED GROUPON

Dear Patients and Friends,
I’m sure you’re well aware of Groupon and similar deals that have been popping up  lately on a daily basis.  As you can imagine, we’ve had dozens of very tempting offers to jump onto that bandwagon.  After careful consideration, COSMETICLASER MD has resisted these offers, and we’d like you to know why.

1.       We take pride in the fact that we are able to give our patients as much time and attention as they require.  We know that we are a “luxury”;  we do not want to rush existing patients so that we can accommodate 200 new patients.
2.       We feel that these offers give “best prices” to the “worst customers” – folks looking for a quick deal.  We value the relationships with our patients that have taken years to build.  We wouldn’t want any one of our existing patients to feel that someone else was getting a better deal than they were.
3.       We would rather offer you amazing promotions directly!  Why use a middleman anyway?
4.       Yes, Groupon  does expose us to a new audience, but we know that most of our patients come to us through patient referrals.  We’re confident that we will be able to provide you with such effective treatments and caring service that you will naturally refer us to your friends and relatives!

In honor of our GROUPON-FREE policy, we have several fantastic PROMOTIONS AND EVENTS available. CLICK EACH LINK TO LEARN MORE.

Stars Rely on B12 Boost for Energy: Madonna, Cindy Crawford, Penelope Cruz Know the Power of Lipo-tropic Vitamin Shots

Once again, the power of B12 for youth and energy gets a star-studded endorsement, and this time it's from some of pop music's biggest stars. Recently at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony,Justin Timberlake revealed an interesting encounter with Madonna and Vitamin B12, an event which he described as "one of the greatest days of my life" no doubt thanks to the sense of energy and well being that B12 injections (also known as Lipotropic Injections) can create.

Who else is said to take B12? According to recent press, Prince is also a huge fan of the vitamin treatment.  Given that all three performers do shows which are heavy on singing and dancing, it is no wonder that they want an extra "lift" that provides energy, stamina and a metabolic boost.   Given that much of the celebrity lifestyle can have an adverse effect on health and wellness, lipotropic injections may be one thing outside of cosmetic surgery that props up so many performers.
VITAMIN B-12 LIPO-DEN POWER SHOTS have been around for decades.  Margaret Thatcher famously attributes her ability to function on four hours of sleep to her regular B-12 shots. Celebrities like
Madonna,
Katy Perry,

and Cindy Crawford get vitamin B12 injections regularly. What was once a celebrity trend has now become mainstream; everyone (with certain exceptions) who needs an energy boost or metabolism kick-start can benefit from VITAMIN B-12 LIPO-DEN POWER SHOTS. "People lead busy, hectic lives and I believe there are benefits for those who use these performance injectables responsibly, and under medical supervision," said Susan Stevens Tanne, MD, Medical Director of COSMETIC LASER MD.

Some other celebrities who have jumped on the B-12 Lipotropic bandwagon:

Charlize Theron has said that B-12 Lipotropics give her a better buzz than her morning coffee.

Penelope Cruz, says, "I can't live without my vitamin B." She takes vitamin B supplements to help her stick to her diet, resist the urge for sweets and for well-being.

Victoria Beckham has been vocal about her use of vitamin supplements, including B12, to stay healthy and alert.

Fuller Lips for a Youthful Look

Research suggests that fuller lips may have as much to do with a woman’s perceived age as the appearance of wrinkles. “The volume in your lips starts to decline as early as in the mid-30s,” says Susan Stevens Tanne,M.D., Medical Director of COSMETIC LASER MD in Livingston, NJ.

Injecting the lips with hyaluronic acid filler likes Restylane, JuvĂ©derm and Perlane can create fuller, plumper lips. There are two different types of candidates that benefit from lip injections, explains Dr. Tanne. “One needs volume; the other needs to balance their features.” A common concern among women who augment their lips is that they’ll be overfilled, creating a “duck-like” look where the lips jut out. But, in the hands of an experienced injector who can fill the lips incrementally, the lips can be augmented to create a completely natural look.

"I absolutely love augmenting lips with filler.  I've done hundreds of of lips - any anyone who's been to my office lately can see all of the amazing before & after photos.  The best part is when my patients look in the mirror and say 'WOW!  This looks totally natural.'"

A New Wrinkle Reducer Set To Debut This Spring

Come this spring, you may have yet another option to choose from in terms of injectables that erase, and prevent, wrinkles. Xeomin, a new botulinum toxin from the makers of Radiesse and Asclera, just received approval by the FDA to temporarily improve the appearance of lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines).

While it’s still unknown how Xeomin will be used differently than Botox or Dysport, we do know that Xeomin is formulated as a more pure form of botulinum toxin without any additives, possibly making it less likely to cause adverse reactions. Xeomin is also the only FDA-approved botulinum toxin that does not require refrigeration. Xeomin is currently used in 14 countries including Germany, the UK, France, Italy and Spain, under the name Bocouture.

While we at COSMETIC LASER MD have not had any experience with XEOMIN yet, we wanted our patients to know that we will stay abreast of every new filler and injectible option as they are approved so that we may always bring you most effective and safest rejuvenating treatments.

GRAPE NEWS FOR SUN PROTECTION

Need a reason to enjoy a glass of wine this summer? Good news! A glass of wine can offer several benefits to your health. While we’ve heard of its effects on the heart and brain, we haven’t heard too much about its benefits for the skin. Published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, a new study from The University of Barcelona and the Spanish National Research Council found that eating grapes and drinking wine might actually be able to protect the skin from sunburn and possibly skin cancer.

According to the research, a chemical found in grapes can protect skin from sunburn by protecting cells. Researchers discovered that the flavonoids found in grapes can stop the chemical reaction that kills cells and causes damage to the skin. As you know, such damage from the sun not only can cause skin cancer but also premature aging.

COSMETIC LASER MD toasts this excellent news! We hope you're enjoying your summer (and wearing your chemical-free sunscreen!).
